Raglans are a band of feisty alt-rock dreamers from Dublin. Comprising Stephen Kelly (lead vocals, guitar), Rhos Horan (bass, backing vocals) and Conn O Ruanaidh (drums, backing vocals), the band take their name from Patrick Kavanagh’s celebrated poem ‘Raglan Road’. The opening chapter of Raglans’ story sees the band form in a tent at a music festival; the setting alone was a sure sign of things to come... Raglans’ is a rowdy, crowd-teasing musical tumult, all muscular, new wave guitars, gritty pop (aka Gritpop) melodies and suitably ragged epic glories.

Their new EP Again and Again – their first new material since the high-charting self-titled debut album in 2014 – was released last year on Fierce Panda Records to critical acclaim. Recorded in Los Angeles with Jason Wade and Chris Murguia (Lifehouse) and mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro), the EP features biographical songs reflecting the last two years in the life of a band travelling the world together. It presents a new and more expansive Raglans sound, retaining the fist-in-the-air glory of their debut, while adding the ferocious momentum and energy from their acclaimed live shows. Now you can be a part of the Raglans’ live experience in the intimate surrounds of Jameson Distillery Bow St...

DAITHÍ

Daithí is an electronic music producer obsessed by the culture of Ireland. He combines nature recordings, old Irish samples and analog synths to create a unique type of house music that’s soaked in tradition. Early on in his career, Daithí became the ‘go-to’ man to remake songs for the dance floor (his remix of ‘You Better’, by Bow St. Sessions stars All Tvvins, is a Hot Press fave). Not content simply on production duties, Daithí is also a mainstay on the Irish gigging scene. Having supported Santigold, The XX and DJ Shadow before ever releasing a record, his live show is an improvised performance, creating on the spot dance music using synths, drum machines and live fiddle.

In 2015, Daithí found a forgotten recording of his grandmother, where she talked about how she met his grandfather, and what it was like living in the west of Ireland for the past 90 years. Daithí sampled this recording to create ‘Mary Keanes Introduction’, a track which captured the imagination of millions of Irish people across the world, and became one of the most successful singles in the country that year. It proved Daithí’s mantra on music: every sample should have a back story, and every song should be personal.

Dublin based musician and actor Paul Alwright (FKA Lethal Dialect) began making music in Foróige in Blanchardstown and subsequently went on to release three meticulously crafted and critically acclaimed albums. Known for his outstanding live shows, he has toured with artists such as Damien Dempsey and Maverick Sabre.

Paul was cast in John Connors/Mark O’Connor’s upcoming feature film Cardboard Gangsters and also provided music for the soundtrack.

His hugely anticipated new album, due for release later in 2017, is set to mark a compelling new chapter in the career of this remarkable musician. Hear what the fuss is all about at Jameson Bow St. Sessions on June 15th…
