An electronic/guitar/everything two-piece with
more control over the atmosphere than your
average cloudbuster (ask Kate Bush), Forrests have
been brilliantly filling the void while Channel One
are on hold. Formed by that act’s Paul O’Reilly and
Owen O’Mahony, leaps into the digital unknown
are the order of the day here. But rather than
leaving the listener cold, Forrests manage time
and again to sweep you up and take you on a
galactic ride. ‘Billions’ is one such memorable trip,
like a gargantuan faraway transmission striking
the earth. They’ve expressed their love for Fuck
Buttons, and recently played with the innovative
Bristol pair in Berlin. Meanwhile, their Electric
Picnic 2013 set was something of a revelation.
Forrests’ summer 2013 mini-album Wilder showed
further progression in their sound and strongly
hinted at a big future to come.
