The latest hotly-tipped proponents of East Atlantic
Americana, Hidden Highways is a collaboration
between Carol Anne McGowan and Tim V. Smyth.
Two songwriters who met at Windmill, they’ve
been working together for over three years and
made their first splash with an April 2012 fourtracker,
released through Out On A Limb. Much
touring ensued as the pair worked on their raw,
paired-back style and shared stages with the likes
of Lucy Rose and The Staves. Old Hearts Reborn, their
debut album, was made possible through FundIt
and arrived last September to glowing reviews. As
they look to build on that momentum this year,
their hardy, melancholic folk songs should see them
stand the test of time. In 2014, their time is now.
