Music from the Edge of the World

Cincinnati rockers The National - who are currently gracing the cover of our new issue - performed at the beautiful St. James Church in Dingle, as part of Other Voices back in 2010. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the intimate live sessions, and over the years, Dingle has welcomed international stars like Amy Winehouse, Laura Marling, Florence + The Machine and The xx, as well as lauded Irish acts such as Villagers, Fight Like Apes and Lisa Hannigan.
In our new issue, we sit down with Other Voices series creator, Philip King, who casts an eye back over the last decade, and explains the magic of Dingle. "West Kerry is a very unique landscape", he says. "I think that when musicians and artists come to that part of the world, they sense something, they feel something." We have to say - we agree! Here, check out two exclusive Other Voices sessions, Welsh singer Marina & The Diamonds and English folk star Beth Orton, who recently performed as part of Other Voices, Derry. Enjoy!
